IGI shows this marriage as occurring on Nov. 29 and Dec. 8, 1789 On 1793 Essex Co. Militia Roll. Probably moved with wife and son Stephen's family to Clermont Co. OH. Bk of Cemertary Inscriptions show Stephen Conklin bur. next to ---Conklin, then Stephen (Jr.), wife Sarah, then child Abner Conklin. Either he or his son was involved in Meth. ch. His will names ten children, incl. Amos, not found elsewhere. tombstone gives death date

Note

History of Clermont Co. (1880) states that a Stephen Conklin helped found the Methodist Church of Tobasco ca. 1835. He was a member and a trustee in 1842. This either refers to him or his father. (p.452). The cemetary at that church is Mount Moriah Cemetary. Tombstone says d. age 55y. 9m. 3d.
